Tow hook

This very compact release system designed by Florian Schambeck is suitable not only for mounting at the bottom of the fuselage but also for “upside down” mounting in tow planes such as Viper, Piper, Wilga, etc.
Thanks to a generous bonding surface, there is usually no need to reinforce the fuselage. Also additional frames or baseplates are not generally needed.
The release is safe, even under loads up to 30 kg and they are manageable with a KST X-10 servo. In additionthanks to the special geometry of the system, the servo control is powerful enough for gliders up to 25 kg.
The system can also be mounted perpendicular to the fuselage axis. It is important to adjust the movement arm correctly, especially when it is in the “towing” position. The servo arm should be close to its “mechanical dead center.” This position can be recognized by the fact that the control arm almost touches the aluminum base plate (see the picture).
For bonding, I.fast two-component adhesives, Uhu Endfest, thickened epoxy resin or two-component resin are ideal. Sand and degrease the bonding base beforehand. The system can be ordered already with the servo mounted or to be mounted. We recommend. Opt for the first option. Price of the release system alone, from € 140.00
